Quality nuts

Some thoughts on quality of nuts, based upon experience and reading.  We would like to differentiate ourselves in the local market buying doing better work, for better prices and buy offering a better quality product.  What this means for the nuts we raise is that the trees have their needs met with water and fertilizer throughout the growing season.  The fertilizer provides the nutrients the trees need to grow and produce each year, the water makes sure the nuts develop well.  In years with irregular rainfall, many local nuts that are available don't fill out well, perhaps have some of that bitter fuzz adhering to the nut.  If the you buy nuts in the shell that are not filled out well you end up buying a lot of shell for your money or else spend more time cleaning out the nuts you need.

We tried to manage our trees and another nearby orchard without adding water, making a quality product is just not possible.

Take a look at he the quality of what you buy, make sure it is what you want.
